UK English Courses

Terms and Conditions

UK English Courses is a subsidiary company of Language Studies Overseas. As such, all bookings with UK English Courses are subject to the same terms and conditions of booking as Language Studies Overseas. A copy of these terms and conditions can be found here.

We would like to draw your attention to the following additional terms and conditions applicable to all students enrolling on a summer course with us:

1. Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of £300 is required on confirmation of registration and the full balance of payment must be received at least 8 weeks before courses begin. All payments must be in pounds sterling and made out to Language Studies Overseas.

2. Methods of Payment

a) Bank Transfer
All bank transfers must be made in pounds sterling to our bank account. It is essential that bank transfers are identified by student name(s) and booking reference number. All bank transfer charges, including UK bank handling fee, to be paid by sender. Account details available on request
b) Cheque
We accept any cheques which are drawn on a UK bank. Non UK cheques are subject to a charge. Cheques should be made payable to Language Studies Overseas.

3. Spending Money and Clothes

Students are advised to arrive with enough English money for the first day in this country. £50-£75 a week spending money is suggested, although this may vary according to the individual. The English climate is famous for its unpredictability and we recommend that students bring some warm, waterproof clothing as well as light summer wear.

4. Bad Behaviour

UK English Courses reserve the right to send home at parents' expense any student breaking British Law, or who persists in serious anti-social behaviour.

5. Liability

UK English Courses is an independent agent and does not own or operate any of the summer schools listed. By submitting the enrolment form, you are assuming all risks and agreeing to indemnify and hold UK English Courses and its employees harmless of any and all liability that may arise during a course abroad. The summer schools do not accept liability for any loss or damage to any property of the client, or any loss, delay or inconvenience in respect of a person in the Company's care provided that the Company and its Agents shall have exercised all reasonable care and diligence in the exercise of its obligations under these terms and conditions.

6. Insurance

UK English Courses strongly advises that all students attending courses have adequate travel insurance with a reputable insurance company against accident, illness, loss of personal property and damage to third party property. Travel insurance may be purchased from the home page of Language Studies Overseas (http://www.languagestudiesoverseas.co.uk)

Students are responsible for any damage caused to property during their stay and in some centres a£30 damage/key deposit will be taken from the student at the start of the course. This will be returned in full at the end of the course providing no keys have been lost and no damage or nuisance has been caused.

7. Medical

You must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions on the registration form. We regret that, any child arriving with a serious medical condition or requiring special needs assistance requiring regular staff supervision not previously reported, may be sent home without any refund of fees.

8. Flight Arrangements

We recommend that you do not book your flights until your course booking is confirmed. Please send us your flight details at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.

9. Privacy Policy

We will not pass your details on to any other organisation or third party. Photographs of students may be taken during the course for identification cards and may be used in promotional materials or on the website. Please let us know if you are not happy for your child's photograph to be used for promotional purposes.

10. Visas and Permits

If you require a visa or permit to visit the UK, let us know at the time of booking and, on receipt of your enrolment form and deposit, we will issue you with a letter of invitation to study in the UK. In the unlikely event that you are unable to obtain a visa, we will refund you any monies already paid.

11. Cancellation

Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival, loss of deposit (£300), fewer than 30 days before arrival, total fees payable.
